How acupressure and detoxification can help your Fibromyalgia symptoms

Over a decade ago, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and multiple chemical
sensitivities. The pain and fatigue were so debilitating, I struggled to leave my bedroom for over 2 years. I was told by several doctors that I would have to be on medication for the rest of my life and live with this terrible pain.
Fast forward to today--I am full of energy, joy and totally free from my “incurable” fibromyalgia as well as my other draining symptoms.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

On my healing quest, I became fascinated with Traditional Chinese Medicine which is much older than the Western allopathic approach and fundamentally different in its treatment of disease.
This ancient system of health care is based on a concept of balanced qi (pronounced “Chee”) the vital energy that is believed to flow throughout the body. This qi regulates a person’s spiritual, emotional, mental and physical balance and is influenced by the opposing forces of yin (negative energy) and yang (positive energy). Accordingly, a disease is proposed to result from the flow of qi being disrupted by an imbalance between your yin and yang energy. Hence the
term “dis-ease” of the body.
As a holistic practitioner, I advocate a multi-pronged approach to fibromyalgia.

Acupressure

Regular “acupressure massage” sessions can dramatically improve your circulation, blood and energy flow while gently releasing pain blockages from your muscles and tissues. Pressing your “energy points” also serves to move the lymphatic system which can become quite stagnant and blocked with inflammation.

Releasing toxins

Detoxification of the body is also essential. Today, much of what you eat and drink has chemicals, preservatives or additives of one sort or another in them.
Tap water alone contains toxic chlorine and fluoride. Chlorine can damage the lining of the stomach and over time decrease healthy gut bacteria. Numerous studies show that fluoride has a vast array of devastating health effects, including lowered IQ in children.
Investigators in Japan, Sweden, Canada and the US have found high correlations between toxicity in the hair and in internal organs.

Toxic chemicals

A simple hair and mineral test will identify the level of a variety of toxic metals in your body including arsenic, lead, aluminum, cadmium, antimony and mercury.
Even small amounts of toxic chemicals can create significant imbalances in your zinc, selenium, chromium, potassium and magnesium mineral levels. Fatigue, chronic pain, headaches,
depression, irritability, and nervousness can be indicative of toxic exposures and mineral imbalances.
