Yoga has been around for about 5,000 years, and is a
comprehensive practice that integrates mental, physical, and spiritual elements.
Health benefits from regular yoga practice includes but is
not limited to: improved immune function; reduced risk for migraines; improved
sexual performance; better sleep; and reduced food cravings.
Research has shown yoga can improve heart health by lowering
blood pressure and other risk factors, and can even benefit those with atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat).
Yoga has a beneficial impact on leptin, a hormone that
regulates energy intake and expenditure, leading the researchers to theorize
that yoga may benefit your health by altering leptin and adiponectin production.
